The National Fuel Pass (Fuel QR) website indicated earlier that the service would be available from 12:00 a.m. (midnight) today, asking users to revisit the page after midnight to access the system.
However, the service remained inactive even after midnight, with users still unable to access the platform.
The development comes after Newsfirst reported that the Government has decided to reintroduce the Fuel QR system amid concerns over fuel supply linked to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
So far, no official announcement has been made by the Government or the Ministry of Power and Energy regarding the reactivation of the system.
To register for a Fuel Pass, visit http://fuelpass.gov.lk and follow the registration process, after which a unique Fuel Pass in the form of a QR code will be displayed – which can be saved on a mobile device or printed to be produced at fuel outlets
