The special holiday granted on Wednesdays for government institutions, schools and universities will be cancelled with effect from April 8, the Commissioner General of Essential Services announced.
The Wednesday holiday had previously been introduced as part of temporary measures implemented in view of prevailing national requirements.
According to the Commissioner General of Essential Services, all government institutions, schools and universities are expected to resume normal operations from Wednesday, April 8.
Accordingly, public sector employees, students and academic staff are required to report for duties and academic activities as per the usual weekly schedule from that date.
Further instructions have been issued to relevant authorities to ensure normal functioning of services and academic activities without disruption following the cancellation of the special holiday. (Newswire)
