Engineer A.M.P.C.T. Bandara officially assumed duties as the new Chairman of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) yesterday.
With extensive knowledge and experience in the engineering field, Mr. Bandara has previously served in several institutions within the private construction sector. He has also functioned as the Private Secretary to the Minister of Urban Development, Housing, and Construction.
Following his appointment, Mr. Bandara held a discussion with the senior management of the NWSDB to review current operations and future plans. A subsequent meeting was held with the staff, attended by the Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Construction, Anura Karunathilaka.
Also present were Ministry Secretary Ranjith Ariyaratne, outgoing NWSDB Chairman Engineer Deepti Sumanasekara, General Manager Engineer T. Bharathidasan, along with Additional General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and senior officials from both the Ministry and the Board.
