The Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the agreement, which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and creating a framework for continued negotiations, reflects the power of diplomacy in resolving disputes peacefully.
“Sri Lanka strongly supports the peaceful resolution of disputes through diplomacy and remains optimistic that this step will foster sustainable peace across the region,” the statement noted.
Sri Lanka also extended its sincere appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar for their pivotal roles as mediators, and to all partners whose support was instrumental in achieving this diplomatic breakthrough. (Newswire)
