100 Lankan migrants leave for South Korea jobs

A group of 100 Sri Lankans left for South Korea for employment, becoming the first batch to leave in 2024.

According to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), the group left on a SriLankan Airlines flight today (Jan 03). 

This is the 832nd group that has been selected for employment in South Korea and will receive jobs in the manufacturing sector. 

The employment opportunities are being provided under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Sri Lanka and South Korea.

The SLBFE has dispatched a total of 6,412 Sri Lankans for employment in South Korea in 2023. (NewsWire)
