Former Galle District Member of Parliament and former Galle District Coordinating Committee Chairman Sampath Athukorala has been hospitalized after being attacked with a sharp weapon.
The attack reportedly took place over a personal dispute in the Bambrawana area in Pitigala.
A suspect has been arrested over the attack. (Newswire)
