A Police constable attached to the Raddolugama Police Station has been arrested for soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 3000.
According to the Bribery Commission, the Police Constable was arrested based on a complaint filed by a resident of Raddolugama.
The complainant claims that the Police Constable had solicited a bribe to return his driving licence without taking legal action over a traffic offence.
The Police Constable was arrested last evening in Raddolugama while accepting the bribe and is due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court. (Newswire/ AI Image)
