Nine buses imported to Sri Lanka in 2014 for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) have been reintroduced to service after undergoing major repairs.
The buses, which had been removed from daily operations, were restored with new engine assemblies and other spare parts before being released at the Katubedda depot today (18 Aug).
Transport officials said the move will strengthen the existing fleet and improve passenger services, while also extending the operational lifespan of the CHOGM buses. Technical teams involved in the refurbishment process were commended for their contribution. (Newswire)
