Opposition launches public input drive ahead of 2027 Budget debate

The Office of the Leader of the Opposition has announced a special initiative to gather public input to assist Opposition MPs with data and insights for the upcoming 2027 Budget debate scheduled for November.

The program, titled “Tell the Leader of the Opposition,” aims to channel the public’s actual needs, expectations, and concerns directly into parliamentary debate, ensuring that citizens’ voices are reflected in proposals and critiques of government policy.

According to the announcement, while public suggestions were also collected during previous budget debates, this year’s program has been restructured to present feedback more effectively and productively.

To facilitate contributions, the Office has made available multiple channels for submissions until 1 November 2026:
