The Department of Meteorology says atmospheric conditions are favourable for showers and thundershowers across many parts of the island over the next 36 hours.
In a weather forecast issued on Friday (03), the department said showers or thundershowers may occur in several areas after 1.00 p.m.
It said fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some locations in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Central and Eastern provinces.
Public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
