The Pakistan Naval Ship PNS SAIF left Sri Lanka this morning (19), just a day after the Indian Naval Ship INS Sukanya arrived in Colombo, marking a rare overlap of port calls by the two neighbouring navies.
PNS SAIF, a 123-metre frigate commanded by Captain Asfand Farhan Khan, concluded her replenishment visit after arriving on 18 November. The Sri Lanka Navy bade the vessel a customary farewell at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions. During its stay, crew members toured several attractions in Colombo.
Meanwhile, INS Sukanya—an Indian Offshore Patrol Vessel measuring 101 metres and commanded by Commander Santosh Kumar Verma—made an operational turnaround visit to Colombo on the morning of 18 November. The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the ship on arrival.
The crew of INS Sukanya is scheduled to take part in goodwill engagements with the Sri Lanka Navy and visit tourist sites across the island. The vessel is set to depart Colombo on 21 November. (Newswire)
