At the invitation of the US State Department, seven members of Sri Lanka’s Committee on Public Finance (COPF) together with the Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) have arrived in the United States on a short official visit.

According to COPF Chairman MP Harsha de Silva, the delegation, currently in Washington D.C., is scheduled to travel to North Carolina and Oklahoma before returning to Sri Lanka.

During the visit, they are expected to meet with a group of members of Congress and senior officials of the State Department.

The programme also included discussions at the US Congressional Budget Office (CBO), where the delegation engaged on key issues related to the use of public funds, including independent budget and financial policy analyses.

MP Harsha de Silva said he was pleased that committee members were able to exchange experiences through the series of discussions already held and those planned for the coming days. (Newswire)
