
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to award a new ground handling services contract for SriLankan Airlines aircraft at Malé International Airport in the Maldives.
The current contract is set to expire on March 31, 2026. Following this, a proposal was received from the sole service provider operating at Malé Airport.
Based on the recommendation of the High‑Level Standing Procurement Committee, the Cabinet has agreed to award the contract for a three‑year period, starting April 1, 2026.
The contract, valued at USD 16.19 million, was presented by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Services and will ensure continued ground handling support for SriLankan Airlines operations in the Maldives. (Newswire)
