Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has filed a Right to Information (RTI) request which has been addressed to Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe to reveal details related to Covid-19 Testing in Sri Lanka.
According to the request letter signed by former parliamentarians and SJB stalwarts, among the details they have requested are:
1. Overall number of PCR tests conducted so far in the country for Covid-19
2. Number of Covid-19 infected patients identified by such tests
3. Number of deaths occurred due to Covid-19 infections
4. Number of cremations took place under the Quarantine act although the deaths were not due to Covid-19
5. Number of deaths occurred at quarantine centres
6. Numbers and dates of PCR tests conducted randomly, at the Temple Trees, at the President’s House and at quarantine centres respectively.
