Foreign remittances by Sri Lankan migrant workers’ has seen a significant increase in January 2023, Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara said.
In a Twitter message, the minister said that Sri Lankan migrant workers’ foreign remittances increased to US$ 437.5 million in January 2023 from the US$ 259.2 million reported in January 2022.
“This is a 68.8% or US$ 178.3 million increase compared to the inflows recorded in January 2022,” Minister Nanayakkara added. (NewsWire)
