The Japanese Government has donated 40,000 MT of Diesel for vehicles, including ambulances, deployed for transportation services in Sri Lanka’s Health Sector.
According to the Ministry of Health, the official handover of the aid to the Health Ministry took place at the Dolphin Jetty at the Colombo Port today (Feb 19).
The stock of fuel was handed over to Health Minister Ramesh Pathirane by the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki, while Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva was also in attendance.
The Ministry further said that a Fuel Management Information System (FMIS) has been launched to record details of the fuel supplied, the vehicles to which fuel has been supplied, and the health institutions involved.
