The IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka (IAASL) have backed the government’s recent solution to introduce a single-entry tourist visa for $50, following the controversy surrounding the government’s new visa process.

Commenting on the matter, President of the IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka (IAASL) Sabry Bahaudeen thanked President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando and the government for taking immediate action to resolve the issue.

After the visa fees for tourists visiting Sri Lanka were increased to $100, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to maintain the existing $50 fee for a 30-day visa, following opposition from industry stakeholders. (Newswire)
