US President Donald Trump says an agreement involving the United States, Iran and several Middle Eastern countries has been “largely negotiated”, with final details expected to be announced soon.
In a statement shared on social media, Trump said he held discussions with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain regarding a proposed peace framework linked to Iran.
Trump said the agreement remains subject to finalisation between the United States, Iran and the other countries involved. He also claimed that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened under the proposed deal.
The US President further said he separately spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding that the discussions “went very well”.
International media outlets including Reuters and AP reported that negotiations are ongoing, while Iranian officials have described the proposal more cautiously as a “framework agreement” that still requires further discussions.
