The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has extended Level 2 (Amber) landslide early warnings for multiple Divisional Secretariat Divisions across five districts due to ongoing heavy rainfall, valid until 4:00 p.m. on October 6.
According to the latest bulletin issued by the NBRO, Level 2 (Amber) warnings have been placed on Passara in the Badulla District; Minipe and Udadumbara in the Kandy District; Dehiowita in the Kegalle District; and Ambanganga Korale, Matale, and Rattota in the Matale District.
Residents in these Amber-alert areas are advised to prepare for potential evacuation if heavy rain continues, as the ground shows increased susceptibility to slope instability, cut-slope failures and rockfalls. (Newswire)
