A water cut will be in effect in several areas of the Colombo District starting today (02), the National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced.
The Water Board said it will notify the relevant areas in advance through SMS messages.
According to the announcement, Padukka, Homagama, and Pelanwatta will face 24‑hour water cuts on different days.
Padukka will experience the cut beginning today (02) at 8.00 pm. On Friday (03), Homagama will face the same restriction, while Pelanwatta will undergo a 24‑hour cut starting Saturday (04) at 8.00 pm.
The Water Board explained that the restrictions are intended to reduce pressure on the Kalatuwawa and Labugama reservoirs due to the dry weather conditions currently affecting Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
