The controversial Krrish Tower in Fort, Colombo, has been issued a red notice after health officials discovered unsafe conditions during a dengue prevention inspection.
The inspection was carried out as part of the “War Against Dengue” programme, which is being implemented across the Western Province under the directives of the Governor. During routine checks across the province, health teams found that the Krrish Tower premises posed a significant risk for dengue mosquito breeding.
At a recent meeting of the dengue task force of the Western Provincial Council, a senior police official informed the Governor that the Krrish Tower site had effectively become a breeding hub for mosquitoes, posing a major health risk to the Colombo city area.
Following these revelations, officers from the Colombo Municipal Council, the Central Colombo Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office, and the Entomology Unit inspected the site, where they conducted fumigation and applied insecticides to control the mosquito population.
Due to the continued poor maintenance of the premises, health officials issued a red notice, instructing the building’s management to eliminate all mosquito breeding sites and report back to the MOH office once the premises have been fully cleared. (Newswire)
