
Sri Lanka Police have reminded the public of the legal consequences of driving without a valid vehicle insurance.
Issuing a public awareness notice, the Police said that offenders face fines ranging between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 50,000.
Driving without a valid vehicle insurance is a serious offence under the Motor Traffic Act, and the penalty reflects the gravity of the violation.
Accordingly, the fines for driving a vehicle without a valid insurance are as follows;
- Between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000
- Between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 15,000
- Between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 5,000
- Between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 50,000 (Newswire)
