An 18-day-old baby has been rescued alive from the rubble of a collapsed building in Venezuela, in one of the most remarkable survival stories to emerge following the country’s devastating twin earthquakes.
Rescuers pulled the infant to safety after the baby had spent around 32 hours trapped beneath the debris. The child was reported to be uninjured despite the lengthy ordeal. Approximately 90 minutes later, emergency teams also rescued the baby’s mother alive from the same site.
Footage of the emotional reunion between the baby and the father has been widely shared, offering a rare moment of hope amid the disaster that has claimed hundreds of lives and left thousands injured and missing. Rescue operations continue as international teams search for more survivors across the earthquake-hit areas. (Newswire)
